UNC

The National University of Córdoba is located in the city that bears its name. It has a long-standing history which has extended to the province, known as «la docta» (“the instructed” or “the educated”), due to both the famous graduates from its classrooms and the «university atmosphere» that can be felt in its streets and neighborhoods, where students from other provinces and countries gather.

It was founded by the Jesuit order in 1613. It has a student population of approximately one hundred and forty thousand. Its classrooms are spread across the 50-acre University campus (known as “University City”), the historic center and the province of Córdoba. It has 15 schools, 2 high schools, 145 research centers and institutes, 25 libraries, 20 museums, 1 blood products laboratory, 2 hospitals, 1 blood bank, 2 astronomical observatories, 1 nature reserve, and 1 multimedia group composed of 2 television channels, 2 radios (AM and FM), and 1 news portal.

What is
PECLA?

The Spanish and Latin American Culture Program

(PECLA, by its initials in Spanish) is the program offered by the National University of Córdoba for non-Spanish speaking international students interested in learning or improving their Spanish proficiency. UNC has a long history of hosting foreign students from around the world and over a hundred years of experience in language teaching. This places it as a forefront institution in Argentina in fostering an environment of interculturality built on knowledge, awareness, and respect for multiculturalism.

Students will engage in cultural experiences related to music, visual arts, tourist circuits, the productive sector, «gauchos» traditions, and they will even take tango lessons.

The best way of learning Spanish is in the land of Messi and Ginóbili.
